This one's from me, and you know I da man, so get downloadin' and feel this one. From an icy, raw, rad, fresh—that's right, Dave, rad—song with a tighter-than-hell guitar riff that I sampled (so don't you go doin' it, too! Digital Integrated Electronics By Taub And Schilling Pdf Files. ), this beat goes rhythmically with the guitar and bass riffs that come in later. Definitely check this one out, with nice, clear snare and bass drums that add a good kick to the mix. Can't relate to the words, though, I got to get me the fuck outta' my job By: Barry Allen File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1999-04-24 Original Album: Who Put the Bomp? NOTE: This loop was previously credited to Barry Mann but I've corrected it thanks to info. From Doug Organ. By: Bobby Allen & The Exceptions File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-11-27 Boomy bass and understated snare make this loop a little awkward, but it's funky and very usable nonetheless. If you listen hard to the hi-hat, it's damn funky, too, I wish someone had mixed this gem a little better, because it's a really good break. Recommended by Phatso with no exceptions. By: Tony Alvon & The Belaires File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-11-25 Comps: Breakdown!
Here's the best beat Shadow ever sampled, and maybe the best beat on this page. SOOPER props and shouts out to for submitting this long, FUNKY-ASS solo, heard in its entirety (slightly chopped) in DJ Shadow's 'The Number Song' and elsewhere (Organized Konfusion?). I can't say anything more about this PHAT loop right now, because I'm getting too emotional, got a Kleenex, bro? Is it 'Tony Avalon' or 'Tony Alvon'? They're all basically a conga drum and cowbell groove with a nice chill backbeat. Intranet Design Annual 2012 Pdf. The first is the most simple, the second adds a couple more snare hits, and the third has a fill at the end.
Very chill, mellow, and slow. Note: 8bit By: Arena File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-11-25 Comps: Heading In The Right Direction That's What She Said. Okay, that's played-out, I know.
This beat sounds like a Mike Clark loop from the Master Drummers v.3 album on Ubiquity, but it's not (duh). Actually, it's almost identical to 'God Made Me Funky'. Just so you get the vibe It's also got a really deep, full bass drum that the Master Drummers 3 album sorely lacked. High recommendation on this one from Australia.

By: Brian Auger & The Trinity File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-09-25 Original Album: Befour Nice cowbell on this one, and some latin percussion. You all know this tune, right? This version's percussion-heavy, with a 4-on-the-floor kind of vibe. So, ya got me, it's not a true open break, but then again, neither is.YOUR MOTHER! (What the fuck did that mean?) By: Average White Band File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1998-09-24 Original Album: Cut The Cake A classic breakbeat that's been sampled up the ass. This is the one with the krayzee jingle bells shit that makes you want to grab a ho and get busy.I mean the Santa kind of ho.
Although, I do live in Oakland, so hos are easy to cum. But that would be bad, and then Santa would bring me coal for Christmas.
You know, one time when I was a kid, my parents gave me coal for Christmas, because of the stupidest thing: they caught me JUST ONCE with a whore in their bedroom when I was 6. Can you believe how much they overreacted? And I couldn't even go to kindergarten all the next week because my dad kept her locked in the basement and he thought that I would tell someone or something. God, parents. Oh yeah, this beat was also submitted to us by, who had NOTHING to do with the sick & bizarre comments I just made about that whore who's in my basement. Er, I mean WAS in my basement.(shit!).
By: Roy Ayers Ubiquity File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-10-01 Comps: Ultimate Breaks & Beats vol.2 This is a major player drumbreak, I can totally picture Ice T cruisin' around with this shit bumpin in his car, making his pink fuzzy dice shake around on the rear-view. Anyway, I like this one, and so you must, too.:) By: Babe Ruth File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-10-19 Original Album: Kid's Stuff Comps: Ultimate Breaks & Beats vol.13; Best Of Babe Ruth; And all this time I thought Babe Ruth was just some fat baseball schmuck. Here ya' go, a nice beat with a good chopability quotient. And especially good if you consider the fact that it was recorded by a fat, dead white baseball player. By: Bad Bascomb File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-10-01 Comps: Ultimate Breaks & Beats vol.1 Slightly hoopty drum beat used by Special Ed ('special' is right.)and Wu-Tang. It's sort of Green Acres, but it's bumpin' nonetheless By: Badder Than Evil File Format: IMA ADPCM Compressed WAV - very good Uploaded: 2000-12-17 Original Album: 'Gordon's War' Soundtrack All right, Mr.
Picky, this one isn't a true 'open drum break', there's some funky-as-shit guitar in the background, but it's damn quiet in this section, so after months of pondering, I decided to post it. This is one of the most groovin' loops ever, it's kinda' got that 'Taking of Pelham 1-2-3' vibe that just chugs along and takes you with it whether you wanna' go or not. This one's a serious swinger. Another phat track, thanks to Davisk.
Updated to ADPCM (original file submitted by Davisk) By: Banbarra File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-11-25 Comps: Ultimate Breaks & Beats vol.5 This one's cold chillin'. I really don't know what much I can say about it, but I really like it, even though it's kinda' straight for my tastes. Anyone who knows anything about this group: lemme' know! This beat has been sampled on: 'Talkin' All That Jazz' by Stetsasonic, Coldcut's 'Say Kids, What Time is It?'
, GangStarr's 'Speak Ya Clout', Prince's 'Get Off', Public Enemy's 'Yo! Bum Rush the Show', and Third Bass's 'Steppin' to the AM'. (Thanks to for tha 411). Note: 256KBits/sec, VERY hi-res.
By: Count Basie File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 2000-12-16 Nice, simple, old-school big-band break. Just two measures with a single hit on each beat. Ends with a phatty little band hit, too.:) By: Les Baxter File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1998-11-01 Comps: Status Breaks v.1 dropped this one on me, which he snatched from 'Status Breaks', and which I think I chopped just a tad.
This is a nice loud sampling of this hard one with cool ride hits goin' crazy in the background. Also features a nice little fill in the second half, so don't you go pressin' STOP before the drumma'-man does, ya' hear? Just so you know, and both submitted this one, but Phil's had more stuff, so I done choosed it. By: Jeff Beck File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-10-01 Original Album: Wired Comps: Drum Crazy 1 This track is off the 'Wired' album by Jeff Beck.
This track, however, features Mr. Ed Green bangin' away on them skins in a funky fashion, as I hope you would expect from me by now. This was previously only on the Mystery Drum Loops page, but now it's here, thanks to homey.
Very nice beat: especially funky and heavily sampled by the big guys. Second verse, same as the first: I am Henry the VIII I am. Well, actually, my real name is Phatso, but you can call me Hank8 (or OctoHank) if you really wanna'. The second half doesn't have that little guitar string-slide sound in it, so it's less distinctive, but you're not gonna' fool anyone into thinking you played it anyway, because if you do, I'm telling, and also, pants on fire hanging on the telephone wire. By: Bedlam Drums: Cozy Powell File Format: Hi-Res MP2 - good Uploaded: 1999-04-24 Original Album: Bedlam ('72) Comps: Drum Crazy v.2 I refuse to cut up this beautiful, awesome loop, so I.mp2 compressed it instead.
This is one of the best tracks that appeared on the Drum Crazy Series, and it's by far one of the best I've ever heard. Now you can hear it uncut and in its original awesome state, complete with boomy bass, great hi hat, and perfect snare.
Comes from drummer Cozy Powell (who also played for Jeff Beck), and from an album prodced by Felix Pappalardi of Cream fame. No wonder it sounds so damn good.
By: The Beginning of the End File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1998-09-18 You'll never guess who submitted this one, so I'll just have to tell you. It was his majesty, the almighty, peerless library of beats and knowledge.
Okay, okay, I'll get my lips off his ass for a minute and tell you about this here loop. Wrote a song about it, wanna' hear it, here it go! Lemme' tell you a story 'bout a loop named Nassau; 'twas funkier than hell, cymbals cut like a band saw. Now you know why I was kicked out of Pharcyde!
Anyway (I can rhyme, really I can!) this is a short, 2-second break with nice cymbal and snare work, fast and to-the-point (but not to-the-counterpoint!). Nice one, thanks E. By: Louie Bellson File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1998-11-01 DESCRIPTION IN PROGRESS! By: Berry Street Station File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-10-01 I don't know how many £s this one's worth, but it's very snare-happy. A nice, loud snare that seems to be popping in your ear almost every half beat, but it gets away with it because it's so funky and raw sounding, just like many of these beats. You know, I'd like to take this moment to just sit quietly and reflect on how thankful I am to have phat drum loops in my life, each one so unique and funky.(those three periods are me reflecting, by the way). Well, I feel better now, don't you?
Check these great, soulful, yet frantically raw, drums and, as always, enjoy. By: Bit-A-Sweet File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1998-11-01 hooks us up again with free shit to soothe the soul. This is a great one to use in your mix.
It starts out with a really nice simple bass-hat-snare-hat pattern on a great sounding kit, somewhat similar to 'Mixed Up Cup', which you probably know is one of the all-time best loops. By: The Blackbyrds File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1999-04-27 DESCRIPTION IN PROGRESS - Very very cool, sounds extremely similar to 'Chicken Yellow' by Miami. Here's a couple CUEd parts from a very long break with lots to choose from. By: The Blackbyrds File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1999-04-27 DESCRIPTION IN PROGRESS - Never heard it before (if you can believe that), but incredibly nice loop. By: The Blackbyrds File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1999-04-27 Original Album: Unfinished Business DESCRIPTION IN PROGRESS - Circa 1976-7 funkiness. Good vintage.
By: Black Heat File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-11-27 Original Album: Keep On Running? Another classic, rare break submitted by this one's hard to come by, and worth the search. Phat bass and tight snare set off this wicked, chill groover with double hi-hat hits. This is one of those ultra-usable beats that you could layer on top of anything and make a hit. If you can't use this beat for good, then you're pure evil, man, pure evil. This beat was featured on Bulldog Breaks, by the way, on a track that was VERY deceptively titled 'Kimba Zoo'. My ass is like Sherlock Holmes and shit solving that baffling enigma of a puzzle.
By: Eugene Blacknell & The New Breed File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-11-27 Comps: Trippin': The Groove Merchant Compilation Here's a really long clip from this intro drum break. The whole thing is way off the meters, with distortion up the kazoo. But it's damn funky, of course. It doesn't loop properly because I didn't want to deprive you of the single snare hit at the beginning, so it's one 8th note off from looping right. I'm sure your Cool-Editing ass can fix that ish though!
By: Black Oak Arkansas File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1998-09-18 Another PHATT, PHATT, PHATT one submitted for free, for you, and for me by, this has been sampled (I think?) on a Bulldog Breaks track, back before Dan Prothero became too good for sampling and moved on to his new galactic undertakings. I'm just playing, Galactic is an awesome band, you should see them live sometime if you can, that drummer (Stanton Moore) can play! (He's one of my people, the pigmentationally-challenged, by the way.) So, in conclusion: Jammy=good; Stanton Moore=good; This beat=good; John Tesh/David Hasselhoff 'Best of Christmas Favorites' collaboration album produced by Leonard Nimoy and engineered by William Shatner=BAD. (No, there is no such album, that is one of the prophetic, biblical signs of Armageddon.) By: Black Sabbath File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-10-01 Original Album: Black Sabbath Submitted by, so YOU KNOW IT ROCKS! Several people think it's called 'N.I.B.' , but it's actually 'Behind the Wall of Sleep', so now you can rest easy.
I've heard this one before on an awesome mixtape a Sureel friend made for me, and now you can hear it, too. This is obviously a rock-band break, with lots of reverb, a nice snare that stands out, and a kinda thin bass drum that sounds awesome amid the unobtrusive rumble and reverb. Very cool, just like all Jammy's loops. Updated 10/1/99. By: Black Smoke Drums: Raymond Genovese File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 2000-12-16 Nice fast loop with really tight drums and a prominent double-time hi-hat. Starts and ends with a little band hit and bass drop-off. Dana sez the drummer's name is Raymond Genovese.
By: Black Smoke File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 2000-12-16 Nice tight drums with ride-bell hits on the up-beats and conga drums riffin' quietly throughout. A simple rhythm, but definitely dope, I know you'll dig this one By: Melvin Bliss File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-12-01 Comps: Ultimate Breaks & Beats vol.5 This is one of the most-sampled drumbreaks in history.
Check Pharcyde, Naughty By Nature, and all other krayzee shit I ain't never heard of. You GOTSTA DIG THA' SHIT, MAN! By: Blondie File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1999-04-24 DESCRIPTION IN PROGRESS By: Bodacious D.F. File Format: ACM Compressed WAV - good Uploaded: 1999-10-19 Comps: Drum Crazy 1 Another ex-mystery beat, upgraded to full non-mysterious status thanks to. This is another rock band, pretty much, but this is a nice, different kinda' beat as far as that sorta' shit goes. It's a slow, chugging groover, one might even describe it as slightly lugubrious at times, but then again, one might be very odd and prone to flights of verbal fancy. I don't really like that he hits the bass drum every time he hits the snare (4-on-the-floor), but I guess that's his style, and that's what makes this beat distinctive, so I won't complain.
But, as a side note, you might try filtering out some bass from the snare hits to fix it up a little, but you didn't hear that from me. Oh yeah, a Cue list and Playlist are both set-up already for this track in CoolEdit, just go to the Playlist and press 'play'. By: Eddie Bo (Edwin J. Bocage) File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1998-09-12 More props to for this beat, which is unfortunately just a very small snippet of some funky-ass drumming. This beat is VERY similar to 'We're So Happy' by Medeski, Martin & Wood (see below), but it's a fraction of the length, and there's a pretty serious cymbal crash running through the whole beat, so that makes it less of a practical loop, and more of a curio. Feel free to peep the raw New Orleans funk, thanks to and Eddie Bo. By: Booker T.
& The MGs File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 1998-11-05 From comes this nice beat with a good metallic-sounding snare.sorta' pops out at 'cha', like President Clinton. It'll add some nice highs to your mix if that's what your mix be lackin'. By: David Bowie File Format: Lo-Res PCM WAV - worst Uploaded: 2000-12-16 This one's pretty damn phat!
Great reverb on the set, and a really appealing live sound to it all. Sounds similar to the way the 'S.O.U.L.' Loop does highly recommended.
