This little dude is still growing into his first set, but he already looks badass. Tricycle dud looks as cool as it is humanly possible to look, while riding an adult sized tricycle.

And no worrying about Johnny Law when riding your Ape bike, there are few if any laws governing what you can do to a bicycle, as long as you don't add a motor. Triumph of the ApesUnfortunately, there are very few pictures of this Triumph chop that I can find on the internet. They go up a long way, so far in fact that they have to angle back down toward the rider about a foot to be within reach. But, as extreme as these are, the guy seems to ride it around, so more power to him. He may be over compensating for something though. Adjustable Height Ape HangersThese seem like they would be a good idea, 50 State Apes were designed to allow the height to adjust in just minutes. I suppose as well thought out as this was, there just is not a market that worries about whether 20' or 12' apes are legal in this particular jurisdiction. Too bad though, as I imagine the adjustable height and angle would be welcome on long trips, no matter what the law in your state prescribes.

Lady ApesThe problem with women and ape hangers is that they typically have smaller frames and shorter arms, so even a 20' Ape Hanger, which is on the high side of okay for a 6' tall man, looks crazy. The tattooed lady on the purple bike has a 112-18' ape, on top of a 6' riser, which has her reaching for the sky. If you are building your lady a bike, or if you are a woman, don't just listen to the advice of the guys. Hopefully the poor woman on the black and white bike isn't going far, because it seems she can barely reach the bars, and has little control on the foot pegs with those heals. Obviously there was a lot of work put into making this Suzuki cruiser into a touring bike, with luggage, stereo, and windscreen. But then why or how did the handle bars get all the way up there? Perhaps he has a medical condition that makes it hard to put his arms down to his sides? I would be much more comfortable on a bike like this with my hands down about 6' lower, about where he has his GPS unit clamped on. Ape Hanger Jimmy's Little Brother?This guy must have seen the bars on Ape Hanger Jimmy's bike and said, me too! Or, it is possible that this is another of Ape Hanger Jimmy's bikes? Who knows, but it does seem to have the same 36' (approximate) Ape Hangers on it.

The strangest thing about this bike is that it is relatively conservative otherwise, a simple, minimal, stripped down hard tail, with a long sissy bar, and a set of super tall apes. Apes Far and WideHaving a set of high Ape Hangers was not enough for this dude, he needed them to be wide as well. Perhaps he thought the width of the bars would draw attention away from his own width? These appear to be about 24' high and 48' across, which would make it kind of hard to split lanes in traffic.

Apes of the 3rd WorldThese two riders may be on a Honda in Africa, but they certainly aspire to a big Harley-Davidson chopper eventually. Where do you even find a set of Ape Hangers in a place where it must be hard to find ordinary gas, tires, and batteries for a bike. Wouldn't an air cooled dual sport single be more sensible? Like a Honda XR250 or XR500? Apes on ScootersWhat is this?

I can't even. The Japanese scooter may have the tallest ape hangers of any bike I've ever seen, so tall you have to stand up to ride. Suzuki GSXR1000 ApeThis is a good way to ruin a perfectly fine sport bike, and piss off the cruiser faithful, too.

It looks like he's made highway pegs on the stunt cages up front, but has yet to actually add forward controls. I can only imagine how weird rearsets and Ape Hangers must be to ride with. This must be the only Ape Hanger equipped sport bike, right? Ape Bandit and Triumph TripleNope, this Triumph Speed Triple and Suzuki Bandit also have fallen in with a bad crowd and gotten a set of Ape Hangers installed. The Bandit has also gotten a sissy bar, hard luggage and a luggage rack, so it may just have rolled through the Tucker Rocky warehouse and gotten some parts stuck to it. It actually wouldn't be too bad for a sport touring cruiser if you were to take off the fairing and put on a big round headlight, or maybe a batwing fairing. The Triumph is really beyond hope.
